Children on the Summit

On the Summit, as in life, kids are a mixed blessing.

And if you’re reading this, we assume you have children, so you already know they complicate things … but are totally worth it!.

So, if you’ve decided to bring your kids, they’ll have a GREAT time.

The ship is family friendly, and once you’re on board, keeping the children occupied while you’re in classes is pretty easy. Celebrity has Sitters at Sea (hourly rates apply), and wide variety of age appropriate entertainment and activities.  Click here to learn more.

Probably the hardest part of bringing the kids is getting them signed up!

Here’s what you need to know to enroll your kids in the Summit…

Children and Double Occupancy

  • A child is anyone 17 years old or younger at the time of embarkation (June 14, 2020)

  • A child rooming with TWO adults pays the CHILD registration rate as listed on the Pricing & Registration page.

  • A child rooming with only ONE adult pays the FULL FARE CHILD rate as listed on the Pricing & Registration.    That’s because the cruise line REALLY wants two bodies in every cabin.  So they charge us full price for a child when they’re the second body. The good news is the adult rooming with a full fare child qualifies for the lower double occupancy rate.

  • Discounts (i.e., alumni) do NOT apply to ANY child rate, full fare or otherwise.

Confused?  Stay with us and it will start to make sense.  Or you can throw in the towel now and just set up a consultation with a Summit Specialist.  No one will think the less of you. 😉

Children (age 17 and below) are required by the cruise line to room with an adult.

So even though you’d love to get two staterooms and put your twin 12 year-olds in a separate room so you and your spouse can get re-acquainted in the privacy of your own room, the cruise line won’t let you book it that way.

Instead, what you need to do is register one adult (at the Double Occupancy rate) and one child (at the Full Fare Child rate) in one cabin, and repeat the process for the second cabin.

So, for a family of four (two adults and two children) getting TWO staterooms, you fill out FOUR registrations (one for each person)

Registration #1:  Adult One at the Double Occupancy rate.

Registration #2: Child One (rooming with Adult One) at the Full Fare Child rate.

Registration # 3: Adult Two at the Double Occupancy rate.

Registration #4: Child Two (rooming with Adult Two) at the Full Fare Child rate.

Now, once you’re on board, how you set up the sleeping arrangements is up to you.  But to get you on board, you’ll need to do it the way the cruise line wants.

Adjoining Staterooms

The ship has a LIMITED number of staterooms which connect.  So if you want to be close to the kids, but not together, this is an ideal set up when available.  If you want adjoining rooms, please contact us immediately because we’ll need to make special arrangements.

Rates for Children rooming with TWO Adults

If you only have one precious bundle of joy (or are only bringing your favorite child on the Summit)…or you think it would be fun to pack both your kids in one stateroom with you and your spouse, then the kids qualify for the much lower CHILD rate.

In this case, each adult pays the Double Occupancy rate and the child(ren) pay the Child rate as shown on the Pricing & Registration page.

We realize this can be a little confusing…

Okay, it’s a lot confusing.  But we’re here to help!
